Hezbollah Targets Israeli-Occupied Lands as Fighting Rages in Gaza
A day after Hamas resistance movement launched an unprecedented large-scale attack dubbed “Al-Aqsa Flood” against occupied territories from Gaza Strip on Saturday, three military sites located in the Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms were targeted.
"On the path of liberating what is left of our occupied Lebanese land and in solidarity with the triumphant Palestinian Resistance and the [persevering] and patient Palestinian people... groups of martyr leader Hajj Imad Mughniyeh, this Sunday morning, corresponding to 8 October 2023, attacked three occupation sites in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms," the Hezabollah said in a statement, Al-Mayadeen reported.
Sites in Radar, Zabdin, and Ruwaysat Al-Alam were targeted with large barrages of mortar shells as well as guided missiles.
The Israeli military confirmed that mortar shells were fired from Lebanon towards the north of the occupied lands. It added that its artillery “is currently striking the area in Lebanon from where a shooting was carried out.”
Palestinian resistance forces’ attack against the occupation has claimed lives of some 300 Israelis so far with while the death toll stands at around 250 among the Palestinians.
The death toll in the Gaza Strip includes 20 children, according to the Health Ministry. At least 120 other minors were wounded.
Palestinian forces have captured dozens of Israeli soldiers during the surprise operation. Meanwhile, Israeli military says it has also taken dozens of Palestinian forces captive.
Hamas announced that the operation was a response to Israel's "crimes" and "massacres" against Palestinians, and called on all Palestinians to confront the regime.
Hezbollah praised the Hamas offensive, noting that it is a message to the Arab countries that are normalizing relations with the Tel Aviv regime.
It also called on Arab and Muslim people around the world to declare their support for Hamas and the Palestinian nation.
Armed resistance is the only way to confront the Israeli “aggression,” Hezbollah said, urging Israel to learn the “important lessons” taught by the “Palestinian resistance.”
